The restaurant itself was nice! Staff were very welcoming, but seemed busy during my time there (which is fine). The decor was very fun and made it feel authentic in some ways. However, as a Louisiana native, the gumbo was not good. It tasted like chili! I couldn’t even finish it bc I was so upset. They must have put chili powder in their seasoning blend or else it wouldn’t have tasted that much like chili. I was expecting a kidney bean in there it was so similar. The fried okra was good, though, but the ranch tasted like Zatarans tartar sauce for some reason. I’m sure if they change the recipe, they’d have better results with their gumbo because it was nothing close to gumbo. Also not enough rice in my opinion.

We tried the hush puppies, Mac and cheese, red beans and rice, and the debris po boy. Most of the food was really good, and the Mac and Cheese was super delicious and creamy. Red beans and rice are usually my favorite dish but these were not the best, had a bit of a sour flavor that I couldn’t figure out. And the service wasn’t great, never got waters filled when they ran out or plates cleared.

A pleasant surprise to find something downtown that has good food and beverages at reasonable prices. Loved the downstairs bar, but never made it upstairs. Respectable service as well. Will definitely be back

I loved Nola Jane. I had the fried catfish. Was so good! The Mac and cheese was an amazing too! I will definitely go back. Love the vibe there. Funky and fun just like NOLA!

Prima Cajun Küche - empfehlenswert! Wir hatten die Catfish Plate und das Crawfish Etouffee, beides war sehr gut. Wir lieben Südstaaten-Küche und haben uns gefreut, dass wir Nola Jane's Restaurant in Denver gefunden haben.

We were visiting Denver and did a quick Google search for restaurants near the art museum. This location came up (Nola Janes), and it sounded like a great place to eat.

We really enjoyed it. Our waitress was really cool and awesome at helping us make the best food selections as it was our first time eating there.

The hush puppies were fantastic. Our meals were yummy as well. My brother had jambalaya, and I had the gator sausage po'boy. We were not disappointed! I actually started scooping my brothers jambalaya onto my po'boy it was so good!

For dessert, we shared the bread pudding... I said it was the best bread pudding I've ever had, and my brother said it was his second favorite.

If we visit Denver again, this place will be on our radar... I suggest trying it if you haven't been!

Busy bar and restaurant. The drinks are good but the bartenders weren't consistently at their posts. The food came quickly and was good but not Nola good. The food runner was happy and made some jokes.

Cajun food with some real flavor! Can’t say it’s super authentic, but the food was delicious and pretty dang close. The alligator sausage, fried okra, and a cup of gumbo all washed down with a sazerac is a delight!
